Emmanuel Catholic College has a structured House System with every student and staff member belonging to one of six Houses – Francis, MacKillop, Frassati, Teresa, More or Lisieux.
The College Houses not only provide a competitive base for sporting activities such as Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country running and the annual House Shield, but it also ensures that every student belongs to a broader pastoral group with a Patron Saint and Charism that extends their connection to our Catholic ethos.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

In mythology the main feature of the Phoenix is that it is reborn through fire; when it gets old it will make a nest and set it on fire. The Phoenix will be consumed in the flames, but will be reborn out of the ashes. Among Christians, it can represent rebirth after death.
