Emmanuel Catholic College offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers 9 Learning Areas and includes Religious Education as its first Learning Area. Religious Education is an integral part of the curriculum and is studied by all students from Years 7 to 12.
The curriculum is arranged with a philosophy of a ‘pyramid’ model to learning. Students in the younger years of schooling experience a broader curriculum and it moves to a more specialised approach in the senior years.
Essentially, the College aims to promote a love of learning where students strive for excellence in a contemporary learning environment.
The specific details regarding the curriculum are available from the respective Handbooks from Years 7 to 12. I encourage you to read and familiarise yourself with the contents of these books.
The College has developed a strong tradition of students accessing their preferred destination on leaving at the end of Year 12. Typically, almost all students who study an ATAR program gain access into university. In 2015, 100 % of students who attempted an ATAR achieved a score that would have allowed them entry into university and of these, 74% of students were offered their first preference.
Added to this, the College’s VET program is outstanding. Many students who study in the VET program have achieved extremely well securing their preferred post school destination. Emmanuel Catholic College was rated the equal best school for its VET achievements in Western Australia in 2015.
