Together with the Principal, and in accordance with the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia’s guidelines and direction, the School Board oversees the financial management, capital development and strategic planning of the College. EIW Architects have worked exclusively with the Board and the Catholic Education Office from the College’s original inception, through all of the College’s planning and numerous construction stages and continue to do so. The College has continued to develop and enhance a number of areas around the campus with various capital works improvements that occur as part of an annual schedule and strategic planning.
In recent years the College has seen the completion of a new double storey block of classrooms for Mathematics and specialist Media and Graphic Design. In addition the Commonwealth Government’s BER funding allocation resulted in a new large covered outdoor learning area being integrated alongside our existing undercover area. A separate Music room was also established.
An important capital development project, planned by the Board Vision and Planning Group is Emmanuel Catholic College’s large multi-purpose Sport and Performing Arts Centre of Excellence.
This extensive building is now open and has been constructed on a large area of land on the western side of our campus, reserved specifically for this purpose on the College’s original Master plan. It will accommodate Emmanuel’s growing future enrolment and serve a number of purposes. The state of the art facility houses two full sized indoor basketball courts, a specialists weights and fitness training room, a stage and performance area, teaching rooms, music rehearsal areas, staff offices and extensive storage for Sports and Arts equipment. Large community gatherings and Masses, full school assemblies, performances and a host of indoor activities will now be accommodated in this spacious facility.
