The College has a specialised Career Development Practitioner and Vocational Education and Training (VET) Coordinator with a role dedicated to overseeing careers information to students and assisting students and parents with Senior Secondary Course Selection, providing comprehensive information on post-school options and organising University, TAFE, Apprenticeship, Traineeship and Employment information sessions.
A number of formal activities form part of the current Career Development Program throughout Years 9 to 12. These include University speaker’s night, individual pathway planning, guest speakers and individual interviews for subject choices in the senior school.
The Career Development and VET Coordinator is also responsible for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) program at the College, Profile Delivery Placements at TAFE, School Based Traineeships and the highly successful Workplace Learning (INSTEP) Program.
At Emmanuel, Career Development Programs in Year 10 aim to support and guide students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to seek out their own career pathway. In this way students become empowered to make future decisions.
The Career Development and VET Coordinator’s office is located in the heart of the campus and readily accessible for students or parents enquiries relating to aspects of Course Counselling and future career pathways beyond Secondary Schooling. The Coordinator, Mrs Susan Beedie, can be contacted directly on 9414 4091 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
