iMen Graduation

Throughout the month of June we attended the Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) iMen program every Monday and Wednesday. 32 Year 10 students across several schools were introduced to many local industries and their employees. We learnt about different trades and were challenged to step outside our comfort zones by participating in team building activities, role playing interview techniques and public speaking.

We also created our own portfolios including cover letters, resumes and looked at the the do’s and don’t’s when attending an interview. It was great to meet people who had participated in the iMen and iWomen programs in the past and who had gone on to become apprentices.

The KIC iMen Program is an Endorsed Program which means we have gained a C Grade towards our WACE results. Thank you to KIC and their main sponsor Taylors Engineering for preparing us for our future and giving us an understanding of what opportunities lie ahead after we leave school.
