The Kwinana Industries Council run a number of projects over the year. Year 10 student, Brooklyn, is taking part in the iWomen program. During the program, Brooklyn will work with students from a number of schools in the partnership. She will visit a range of industries and meet women in non-traditional female roles.
There will be an opportunity for the girls on the program to see what industry really looks like. Visits in this program include, the Construction Futures Centre and Crushing Services International. Career advice is covered as students attend a number of workshops that will give them the valuable skills and tools required as they prepare for their place in the workforce. Talks are also included from women in local industries such as BP and Alcoa.
Full attendance on the course provides students with an Endorsed Program, which contributes to their WACE graduation.
Other programs available to Year 10 students include, iMen and Science.
