Japan Arts Tour 2024

The Japan Arts Tour was an enriching and diverse exploration that took 28 students and 5 staff members on a captivating journey through Japan’s cultural gems. Beginning in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, they delved into the vibrant art scene, experienced the cutting-edge fusion of technology and creativity at TeamLab Borderless, and engaged in thought-provoking discussions about the evolving landscape of art.

Transitioning to Kyoto, known for its timeless elegance and cultural heritage, students were mesmerized by the serene beauty of Fushimi Inari Taisha (thousand tori gates) and gained insights into traditional Japanese architecture and spiritual practices many temples.

In Osaka, the culinary capital of Japan, they savoured delectable street food at Dotonbori, explored lively food markets, and indulged in urban adventures at Universal Studios Japan, blending cultural exploration with thrilling experiences.

The tour’s final leg in Hiroshima provided a profound and reflective experience as they visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Peace Park, and the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome, fostering deep conversations about peace, resilience, and the human spirit.

Throughout the journey, participants not only deepened their understanding of Japan’s art, history, and culture but also forged lasting connections, gained a global perspective, and ignited a passion for global citizenship. The Arts Japan Tour stands as a testament to the transformative power of travel, education, and cultural exchange in shaping informed, empathetic, and culturally aware individuals.
