Alumni in Spotlight: Caitlin Arnoldi (Class of 2022)

Empowering Rural Students Through Education

Education is a powerful tool that has the ability to transform lives and create opportunities. Caitlin Arnoldi, an inspiring young individual and alumni of Emmanuel Catholic College, Class of 2022, is on a mission to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged students. As a pre-service teacher with a passion for working in rural communities, Caitlin understands the importance of providing support and guidance to foster lifelong learning. Let’s take a closer look at her journey and the fundraising initiative she is currently leading.

Caitlin Arnoldi is not just an ordinary university student studying to be a teacher; she is a compassionate and driven individual who is committed to making a positive impact. Recognising the educational disadvantages faced by students in rural areas, Caitlin has taken a proactive approach to address this issue. Later this month, she will be visiting Cue Primary School to offer one-on-one tutoring to students who are experiencing educational disadvantages.

Caitlin’s commitment to helping students in rural communities stems from her deep understanding of the significance of quality education, and her appreciation for Christian Service, instilled in her through her time at Emmanuel. “The values of Lisieux House (Trust, Spirit and Generosity) that were emphasised though our Liturgies and Feast Days have deeply impacted me.” She believes that the impact of this fundraiser extends beyond providing resources for a subpar education; it is about offering support and guidance to foster lifelong learning. Caitlin emphasises that every student, regardless of their geographic location, deserves access to the same opportunities and resources that can ignite their passion for education and lead to positive outcomes later in life.

Currently, Caitlin is spearheading a fundraising campaign for the Teach Learn Grow (TLG) rural program, which aims to support disadvantaged students across Western Australia. TLG sends university students, like Caitlin, to rural schools to provide academic and wellbeing support. The goal is to empower these students and ignite their passion for education, ultimately creating a brighter future for them. By fundraising for TLG, Caitlin is making a significant contribution to ensuring that no student is left behind due to their geographic location. We admire Caitlin’s dedication and commitment to improving the lives of disadvantaged students. We wish Caitlin all the best with her fundraising initiative.
